Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Swipe Files India ("we", "us") handles your personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"). Under this law, we are the "Data Fiduciary" for the data we collect from you, and you are the "Data Principal".
What data we collect
Name, email address, phone number (where you provide it), IP address, browser and device information, cookies, and any information you submit through forms or comments.
Why we process it (purposes)
To operate this website, respond to enquiries, deliver services you request, send updates you have opted into, secure the site, and comply with law.
Our lawful basis
We rely primarily on your consent, given through opt-in checkboxes on our forms and the site consent banner. For some processing we rely on a "certain legitimate use" under section 7 of the DPDP Act — for example, data you voluntarily provide for a specific purpose, complying with a legal obligation, or responding to a medical emergency.
Who we share your data with
We may share data with service providers such as our hosting provider, email service, and analytics vendors, under contracts requiring them to protect your data.
Transfers outside India
Some of these providers may process data outside India. We rely on their contractual and technical safeguards.
How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it for, or as required by law, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
As a Data Principal you can ask us for:
- a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who it has been shared with;
- correction or completion of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- erasure of data no longer needed;
- withdrawal of any consent you have given (withdrawal is as easy as giving consent);
- nomination of another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated; and
- redress of any grievance about how we handle your data.
We aim to respond within 30 days of receiving a verifiable request.
